The Rev. Mary Slenski, Interim Rector, comes to Christ Church from Indianapolis. She finds joy in gathering many into one. An interim specialist by choice, this is her sixth appointment as an Interim Rector. She has served congregations from Monument Circle in Indianapolis to Indiana’s edges on the Ohio and the Wabash, plus one more in Chicagoland.
Ordained in 2008, Mary holds a Master’s of Divinity from the Episcopal Divinity School, an MBA in Finance from Wright State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Florida. (Go Gators!) More recently, she completed additional work in Philanthropic Studies from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. She graduated from Northeast High School in St Petersburg, Florida, a question she’s been asked in the Southern Indiana/Louisville area.
Mary has been married to George since 1980. They have two adult daughters, Denise and Abigail, and one grand cat. Two black kitties, Fred and Sole, are recent additions to their household. She’s had a needle in her hand since before she could read and especially enjoys quilting—bringing many pieces into one.
Starla Raley, Music Director, holds D.M.A. and M.M. degrees in music from the University of North Texas and a B.M. degree from Illinois Wesleyan University. Dr. Raley also studied at the Vienna Conservatory of Music in Vienna, Austria. The Illinois native was awarded Professor Emeritus status in honor of her 22-year teaching career at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.
Starla married Mike in 2013 and relocated to Madison, Indiana, where she continues to combine a lifelong career of sacred music, concertizing and teaching. In addition to her work as organist/music director at Christ Episcopal church, she teaches at Ivy Tech Community College, operates Mulberry Music Studio and serves as pianist for the Louisville Philharmonia.
Christine Pritchard, Parish Administrator and Bookkeeper, was born and raised in Cleveland Ohio. She iVeteran of the United States Navy, and former police officer. She currently lives in Vevay, Indiana with her husband, daughter, 2 dogs and a cat. She is a certified Bookkeeper through Ivy Tech Community College and is currently working towards her associate’s degree in accounting.
Christine loves crafting, which includes crocheting, knitting, diy’ing, sewing and as her husband says “craft shopping is a hobby for her, haa haa.” She is a huge sports fan. She loves her Cleveland Browns, Indians, Cavs and of course the Buckeyes.
Charlotte, Custodian is a lifelong Madison resident..She has 3 successful grown children and 4 grandchildren and has been married for 35 yrs. Charlotte has been cleaning for over 37 years in the commercial, industrial and private sector. She has been keeping Christ Church tidy since 2016.. In her free time Charlotte loves going to antique malls, volunteering, crafting and spending time with family.
