St. Cecilia Festival

It’s TIME –  after a two-year pause, the St. Cecilia Festival is back at Christ Episcopal Church, Friday, December 2nd at 7:00 p.m.

In honor of St. Cecilia, the patron saint of music, Christ Church invites you to a program showcasing the variety and talent of local musicians, including Tabitha Tolbert, Yvonne Davis, Brook Reindollar, Camille Fife, and Starla Raley as well as students Mitchell Adams and Maggie Donovan.  Original songs and classics, brass and cello, piano and organ, solo and choir pieces are interspersed with poetry by T. S. Elliott, Phillip Larkin and interpretive readings from Einstein’s Dreams, a novel by Alan Lightman.

Everything is about TIME – what it is, how it feels, where it’s gone.  “It’s a fitting theme for this time of year and this year of restarting after the pandemic,” according to the Rev. Mary Slenski, the interim rector.

Following the program in the historic 1850 church at 3rd and Mulberry,  everyone is invited to a reception in the great hall at the end of the garden.  There the beauty of time, in one-of-a-kind gourd clocks by featured local artist, TeriLu Adler,  will be displayed.

There is no charge for the evening performance, donations are welcome.
